PURPOSE: To optimize the left heart AV intervals by automatically adjusting the heart stimulating time delay between the right heart atrium and the right heart ventricle (the right heart AV interval), and compensating the delay between heart atriums and heart ventricles induced by pacemaker stimulation. ;CONSTITUTION: Lead wires 12 and 14 whose tip electrodes 13 and 15 are positioned at the right heart atrium and the right heart ventricle respectively are connected with a heart rate detection and stimulation instrument 22, and the P wave component and the QRS compound component of the standard electrocardiogram are detected and amplified by detecting amplifiers 24 and 30. The heart rate is detected 32 from the P component and compared 34 with the heart rate standard value, and the comparison results are stored in a memory 36. The right heart AV interval is detected 38 from the QRS compound component and compared 40 with the fixed threshold value, and the comparison results are stored in a memory 42. Based on the comparison results, the pacemaker stimulation mode and execution are made by a logic circuit 44.
