Fractal dimension conversion method and apparatus of the digital curve

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transform the fractal dimension of a digital curve. ;SOLUTION: Digital curvedata expressing a digital curve are encoded to a chain code constituted of three code words of right turn, go straight and left turn. Respective code words included in the chain code are transformed into a code word string in accordance with a prescribed transformation rule. In this case transformation is executed so that a prescribed vector out of the first half vector and latter half vector of a vector pair expressed by the code words to be processed is partially superposed at least to one of the leading vector and rear end vector of a vector string expressed by the transformed code word string. A transformed chain string is generated by the transformation. When the transformed chain code is decoded, transformed digital curve data expressing a transformed digital curve having a fractal dimension higher than the original digital curve are generated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
