PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a deep-colored Oshima pongee having a printed pattern by enabling the piece dyeing of the white plain Oshima pongee in a state of a fabric. SOLUTION: The white plain Oshima pongee is washed with an alkaline bath containing an enzyme to substantially completely remove mud components contained in the fabric. The resultant fabric is then printed with a desired pattern and a resist printing treatment of the printed part is subsequently carried out to dye the fabric with a decocted liquid of a bark. The resultant dyed fabric is then neutralized, mudded and subsequently washed with the alkaline bath containing the enzyme. Thereby, the Oshima pongee having the printed pattern can be produced.
