PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal alignment film that is made from a novel chemisorbent substance, can be uniformly and tightly fixed on a substrate, is excellent in the heat stability of alignment and the regulation of alignment, is transparent, can realize a broad angle of vision, can be produced at good productivity, and has a thickness of a nanometer level and to provide a liquid crystal display having such a liquid crystal alignment film.
