PURPOSE: To provide a GPS distance measuring method and its device capable of correcting a leading error by influence of an ionized layer and improving precision of distance measurement. ;CONSTITUTION: Doppler frequency (d) of an L1 wave received by a GPS signal receiving part and a C/A cord phase data C which is a distance data are inputted to a Doppler support processing part 11 and a Doppler frequency integrating part 12. A carrier smooth value S gained by averaging the phase data C by way of using the Doppler frequency (d) is computed in the Doppler support processing part 11. In the meantime, a carrier phase value r (t) which is a current distance is computed by way of integrating the Doppler frequency in the Doppler frequency integrating part 12. This is precision based on the L1 wave of one cycle 19cm. A dispersion correction amount P (t) is computed in accordance with a value found by subtracting a carrier smooth value S (t) from the carrier phase value r (t), and a carrier base value which is precision of the L1 wave is calculated by subtracting it.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
