PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the output voltage using a small number of switches by controlling the series parallel connection of respective capacitors connected with a main capacitor bank through a switch comprising rectifying elements and control elements connected in reverse parallel thereby regulating the voltage. ;SOLUTION: One switch SA1-SA3 in one switch mean group and switches SB1-SB3 in the opposite switch mean group or a switch SS is connected selectively and switching of the connection of a plurality of capacitors CA1-CA3 and CB1-CB3 is controlled. Consequently, the voltage is regulated and voltage fluctuation incident to charge/discharge can be suppressed. Since the charge/ discharge current is born only by the switch SS for connecting the capacitors CA1-CA3 and CB1-CB3 entirely in series, other switches SA1-SA3 and SB1-SB3 require a current capacity only one half of the entire current.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
