PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting apparatus of a plurality of object positions by a sound for reliably specifying the directions of a plurality of sound sources without depending on the distance between the sound source and a microphone in an actual environment having reflection.;SOLUTION: The detecting apparatus 41 for a plurality of object positions by sound comprises: two microphones 1a and 1b arranged at a specific interval; an acoustic measuring instrument 17 for obtaining a phase difference spectrum due to the acoustic signal of two channels obtained by preamplifiers 15a, 15b; and an arithmetic processing unit 19 for calculating the directions of all sound sources that can be estimated from the phase difference spectrum obtained by the acoustic measuring instrument 17, for obtaining frequency characteristics in the direction of the estimation of the sound source, and for extracting straight line components in parallel with a frequency axis from the frequency characteristics in the direction of the estination of the sound source.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
