PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that can estimate damage mode and load by carrying out a spatial frequency analysis for cracked fracture surface shape expressed numerically by a laser microscope. SOLUTION: This fracture surface analysis method by spatial frequency analysis comprises processes of (A) measuring the cracked fracture surface by a laser microscope, (B) fining the spatial frequency characteristics by analyzing spatial frequency of the measured cracked fracture surface shape, (C) comparing the spatial frequency characteristics of the fracture surface of a test piece obtained by standardized tests (fatigue test, tensile test, fracture toughness test, cracking propagation test, creep test, etc.), for a same material by actual apparatuses with the spatial frequency characteristics, and (D) specifying the damage mode of the fracture surface by the comparison of the spatial frequency characteristics.
