PURPOSE:To prevent the fall out of the active material from a collector, and to securely prevent the corrosion of the grain interface of the crystal by forming a film, which is made of compound oxide, only on the crystal grain interface of the surface of a collector for lead-acid battery. CONSTITUTION:A collector element material formed of a grid body, which is made of lead alloy containing Sr or the like, is manufactured, and it is heated so that Sr is deflected by the interface 3a of crystal grains 3 of the collector element material, and a collector 1 for lead acid battery is thereby manufactured. This collector 1 is filled with the active material paste, and aging and drying are performed so as to form an active material layer 2, which is mainly composed of PbO2, on the collector 1. After the chemical conversion treatment is performed to the collector 1 formed with the active material layer 2, drying is performed, and PbO2 of the surface part 1a of the collector 1 and Sr of the crystal grain interface 3a are made to react with each other. A film 4 made of perovskite type plumbate, which is composed of SrPbO3, is formed on the only crystal grain interface 3a of the surface 1a of the collector 1 so as to finish a positive plate.
