PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contractor validation system and a contractor validation method capable of validating that the contractor is a person in question by utilizing a public line without using a passbook and a seal.;SOLUTION: To validate whether the contractor is the person in question or not, a contractor card in which a matrix of symbols disposed in m rows x n columns is recorded is prepared by the contractor, an identification code accepted from the contractor, a personal identification number, and the symbols in row k and column l selected arbitrarily are detected, and they are collated with data recorded in a host side database. When the symbol in row k and column l of the matrix is validated to be the contractor itself when a plurality of sets of k and l values different from each other are selected and all match each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
