PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eggplant tea mostly having the good properties of eggplant, having large medicinal activities and useful as a health drink by paying an attention on eggplant stems left after the harvest of eggplant fruits without using the eggplant fruits. SOLUTION: This eggplant tea T is prepared by drying eggplant stems 1 and subsequently dividing the dried eggplant stems into small pieces having the maximum length L of 3-4 cm or shorter. =80-90% of the stems 1 are longitudinally divided in a state that the flesh portions 2 and the bark portions are integrated. This method for preparing the eggplant tea comprises a stem- extracting process for extracting the eggplant stems, a washing process for washing the stems, a cutting process for cutting the stems in a prescribed length or shorter, a drying process for drying the stems cut in the cutting process, and a dividing process for dividing the dry stems dried in the drying process into small pieces by a grinding method or a cutting method.
