PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposal container for radioactive waste which can efficiently accommodate radioactive waste, can be efficiently contained in a disposal field and can exhibit functions for stably confining nuclides for a long period. PSOLUTION: The disposal container 1 for radioactive waste accommodating inside radioactive waste is constituted of a container body 2 formed in a rectangular shape and sealed at the upper opening by welding a sealing lid 3, and a plurality of rectangular shield plates to assemble into a rectangular shield body 5 of which each 4 corner has step shape assembling parts which are assembled to be right angles with each other in the container body 2.
