PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pigment excellent in adhering strength and uniform adhesion property, suitable for the metallic coating finish of an automobile, a printing ink and the decorating finish of a plastic material by covering a specific amount of a monobasic aromatic carboxylic acid on the surface of a coloring pigment. ;SOLUTION: This surface treated coloring pigment is obtained by covering the surface of (A) a coloring pigment such as a phthalocyanine blue, the ultra fine particles of titanium oxide and a carbon black (e.g. having 0.01-1μm primary particle diameters, especially 0.02-0.1μm) with (B) 0.2-100 pts.wt. monobasic aromatic carboxylic acid such as benzoic acid, an amino (hydroxy) benzoic acid, a (amino) naphthoic acid and a (amino) cinnamic acid based on 100 pts.wt. (A), and as necessary further (C) 0.1-50 pts.wt. aluminum chelate compound or a titanium chelate compound based on 100 pts.wt. (A).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
