PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore the consistency of data and redundant data in a part of a logical disk drive while operating a system when the position where the inconsistency is generated is unclear although there is possibility that the consistency of the data and the redundant data is damaged. PSOLUTION: This controller for controlling a logical disk drive starts consistency restoration processing of the whole logical disk drive when there is possibility that any inconsistency is generated between data on the logical disk drive and redundant data and when the position where the inconsistency is generated is unclear. When an I/O request is issued from the host during the consistency restoration processing, the controller judges whether a region on the physical disk drive designated by the request is a consistency restoration completion region (S31), and when the result is positive, processing following the request is executed (S32).
