PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition improved in compression permanent set and heat resistance for a long period by compounding ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer with a metal oxide. ;SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and (B) 0.1-20 pts.wt. of a metal oxide (e.g. zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, calcium oxide). The component A is the copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate, and preferably has a vinyl acetate content of ≥50%. The composition is preferably compounded with 0.1-10wt.% of an antioxidant (e.g. 6-ethoxy-2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroxyquinoline). Vulcanized rubbers capable of being used for oil seals, O-rings, gaskets, etc., can thereby be produced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
