PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optimal data broadcast viewing providing apparatus for a digital television in which programs are recorded while being arranged in the same program order when the programs are the same. ;SOLUTION: The optimal data broadcast viewing providing apparatus is provided with: a means for displaying a program guide of data broadcasting on a display part when the program guide is transmitted from the upstream side by data broadcasting, successively reading selected programs when the programs are selected out of the displayed program table by an external controller, arranging the same programs for the unit of a group in the order of on-air times of the programs, defining recording areas based on the on-air times on a hard disk in the order of on-air times beforehand, and producing a program recording arrangement table on which the ranges of the recording areas are linked to the programs; a means for deciding whether or not an internal timer becomes the on-air time of the program recording arrangement table on the hard disk after the programs are completely selected out of the program guide displayed on the display part; and a means for receiving and recording a program of main broadcasting from the upstream side in the recording area on the hard disk based upon the program recording arrangement table at every on-air time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
