The present invention provides an agent for controlling animal diseases caused by parasites, which contains, as an active ingredient, an imidazole compound represented by the formula (I): ;wherein R¹ is a cyano group, R² is an alkyl group which may be substituted, or a phenyl group which may be substituted, R³ is a chlorine atom, and R⁴ is a dimethylamino group.
