The method is easily materialized technically and is economical. By it, waste waters of organic pollutants, belonging to different groups of chemical compounds such as oils organic solvents which cannot be mixed with water and other can be effectively treated. The organic substances are separated in a separate phase on the surface of the aqueous phase and are easily removed. Organic substances from the surface of solid particles, such as mineral ones, can be successfully separated, as is the case in a flotation concentrate. The water, with the exception of organic pollutants, is also treated from other unwanted components, such as arsenic, cadmium, copper and others. The method includes the treatment of waste waters or suspension in a electrolysis cell with electrodes of graphite, stainless steel, titanium alloys, individually or in combination, in ratio between the surfaces of the cathode and anode of 1:1 to 1:5, by applying current with densities from 3 to 20 mA/cm2 for 2 to 20 min.
