LEVELLING OFF AGENT IN ELECTRICAL DEPOSITION OF METALS AND ALLOYS AND INHIBITOR FOR CORROSION PROTECTION IN ACID AND NEUTRAL ENVIRONMENT

The levelling-off agent for the electrical deposition of metals and alloys and inhibitor for corrosion protection in acid and neutral environment comprises polyaniline in the form of aqueous dispersion. It finds application in the deposition on metal and alloy coatings, increasing the levelling-off capacity of the electrolyte from 85 to 95%, depending on the type and composition of the electrolyte, as well as the type of the deposited metal or alloy. It is introduced directly into the galvanic baths and is stable under continuous work. The polyaniline, in the form of aqueous dispersion, is highly effective inhibitor for the protection of metals from corrosion in acid and neutral environment, and does not hamper the elimination of the metal oxides in the processes of etching and finds application for surface treatment of metals, as well as in long sea-going shipment for corrosion prevention of the metal articles and pieces of equipment, in the corrosion protection of closed water circulation systems, heat exchangers and others.
