A plate for the interior equipment, in particular for the production of new walls of a room or for covering wall -, ceilings - or top surfaces of a room, has provided on at least two opposite sides of the connecting means, especially a groove - and spring embodiment, for connection with further, similar panels, wherein said connection means includes a latching connection with an adjacent similar plate, and additional fastening devices are, on the board itself for the fastening of the plate provided on a support structure. Dollars a in the scope of a method for producing new walls of a room or for panelling existing wall -, ceilings - or top surfaces of a room, first a first plate is mounted, then, a second plate, with the preparation of a detent connection to the adjacent side edges of these two plates with the first plate, and in the following, the second plate is secured by means of additional fastening devices.
