Aqueous dispersion of gas micro bubbles, contrast agent, process for its preparation and matrix

In the present invention, there is disclosed an aqueous dispersion of gas micro bubbles stabilized by amphiphilic material consisting essentially of phospholipid predominantly comprising molecules which individually have an overall net charge. The invention also relates to a contrast agent for ultrasonic representation in diagnostic studies, comprising the micro bubble dispersion in an injectable aqueous carrier medium. Described is also a process for preparing such contrast agent.
