The drive has an actuator and power transmission elements. The power transmission elements include a vertical drive shaft (10) and a pinion gear (11) located in a space formed in at least one arm (6) connecting the hub portion of the base frame of the crusher to the shell portion of the frame of the crushers, that the pinion gear is located essentially totally inside the space and the vertical drive shaft is at least partly inside the space. An independent claim is also included for a crusher.
