The present invention relates to a process for magnetizing a magnetizable fiber in a viscous body. In essence, a fiber alignment unit (15) is provided which is formed as a non-magnetic housing (17) having a first wall portion (17a) and a second wall portion (17b), moved relative to the viscous body so that the second wall portion (17b) and the first and second wall portions (17a, 17b) are in contact with the viscous body. Further, through the first wall portion (17a) of the non-magnetic housing (17), a magnetic field is directed into the viscous body, thereby exposing the fibers (F) in the viscous body to the direction of the magnetic field moving. The apparatus has a fiber arranging unit (15) having a non-magnetic housing (17) having a first wall portion (17a) and a second wall portion (17b). Further, it has a magnetic device, in particular a magnetic cylinder (18), which, adjacent to the first wall portion (17a) of the non-magnetic housing (17), directs the magnetic field through the first wall portion (17a) of the non-magnetic housing (17). In addition, it has a manipulating mechanism, in particular a control rod (14), which is formed in the viscous body by means of a first wall part (17a) which can be released from the front by a first wall part (17a). ŕ
