A method of producing biologically active glucocerebrosidase comprising: (i) culturing recombinant cells containing the DNA sequence encoding for the production of glucocerebrosidase in a growth medium suitable for cell growth; (ii) replacing a substantial portion of the growth medium with a production medium that is suitable for cell viability and secretion and stabilization of glucocerebrosidase; (iii) allowing production and secretion of glucocerebrosidase into the production medium; (iv) removing and collecting the production medium containing the secreted glucocerebrosidase, obtained in step (iii); and (v) purifying the glucocerebrosidase from the production medium collected in step (iv). 1760 ז' באב התשס" ד - July 25, 2004
