The fire-protected rail (1a) is for the conveyance and support of a trolley (2a) for an incapacitated person and has a hollow opening (3a) in a longitudinal direction in which a trolley, at least partly, engages, together with a protective device which closes the hollow opening in the event of fire or the presence of smoke or gas. An assembly comprises a rail through passage through a wall separating a first room from a second. The through passage has an opening through which a trolley can pass from the one room to the other. At the position of the rail through passage a device is available to close the hollow opening in the event of a fire or a presence of smoke or gas in the first room. The trolley is provided with displacement devices, mostly in the form of rollers (4).
