Air is supplied to an open chamber (7) between two length direction ribs (5, 6) on the underside of the hull (1) by an air supply device with its outlet in the inner side of the cross-direction wall (41) extending between the ribs to define the chamber. This inner side plane extends at an angle of -5 to +90 deg. relative to the vertical, so that when the boat is travelling in a forwards direction, an underpressure is generated at this inner side. The chamber is open on its bottom side and defined by at least two length direction ribs. The cross-direction wall is located at the bow end of the chamber.
