The electrical economy lamp has a security casing for prevention of theft within a lamp foot (2), provided with counter hooks (11) extending outwards through the contact casing (5). By screwing the lamp into a fitting (7), the counter hooks spring inwards, without hindering the screwing-in process. When the lamp is screwed outwards, however, the hooks automatically secure in the fitting and the security casing remains behind, whilst the rest of the lamp is further screwed outwards. On production, the inner electrical connections are placed in a narrow recess in the security casing, so that when the lamp is screwed outwards, the wires are severed through the edge of the recess in the security housing clamped by the counter hooks and the lamp is therefore damaged.
