The device is for the addition in mixture of a secondary fuel in a diesel engine which has an engine block and a specific number of cylinders, each connected to an injector for feed of combustion air. A dynamo is driven by the diesel engine. A storage tank (1) is provided for the secondary fuel, such as liquid petroleum gas. The tank is connected via a fuel conduit (2) with an evaporator/pressure regulator (3) which is further connected to a regulating component (5), so that dependent upon the operating state of the engine the required quantity of secondary fuel is fed to the cylinders. The device includes a programmable central processor unit (8), which controls the regulating component (5) by means of a control signal representative of the actual speed of the engine. The actual speed is thereby derived from the voltage provided by the engine dynamo (12).
