A method for producing solid solutions of GeTe-SnTe-Bi2Te3-Sb2Te3 consists in that parent materials are alloyed in quartz ampoules at the temperature which is higher than the highest temperature of selected compounds, thereafter the obtained alloy is subjected to zone melting and annealing in the vacuum. As parent material the alloy 0,77(BixSb1-x)2Te3+0,23GeySn1-yTe of the composition x = 0.6; y = 0.8 is used.
