The method for assessing the regional epidemic situation concerning the incidence of diphtheria consists in comparing the maximally probable annual incidence level with the theoretically anticipated incidence for specified time interval (year). The minimal monthly incidence for each year within 10-15-year period is assessed and the average incidence minimum is estimated as the mean weighted incidence in the specified years.
