METHOD FOR PRODUCING A CONTAINER FOR TRANSPORTING OR STORING RADIOACTIVE ARTICLES

The proposed method for producing a container for transporting or storing radioactive articles differs in that the cylindrical interspace between the inside and outside shells of the container are filled with concrete, with small grain dimensions, and mix of cement, water, and additive material. The container of this design can be used as an intensive neutron radiation source. For this purpose, in the interspace between the container shells, two concentric cavities are formed, which are separated by a diaphragm with holes. The dimensions of the diaphragm holes is less than the dimensions of the concrete grains, and only one of the said cavities is filled with mix of cement, water, and additive material.
