The proposed method for producing a coupler with circular polarization based on a metal-dielectric strip-line waveguide can be used in designing equipment for measuring the load standing-wave factor and parameters of microwave devices. The coupler contains a metal-dielectric strip waveguide section and a circular waveguide section. In the circular waveguide section, electromagnetic waves with circular polarization are excited by two intersecting slots that emit linearly polarized electromagnetic waves with a spatial and time shift of 90 degrees. The amplitude of the longitudinal component of magnetic field is substantially less than the amplitude of the lateral component, therefore, for the purpose to balance the said amplitudes, the longitudinal slot used for coupling the metal-dielectric strip waveguide section with the circular waveguide section has increased length in comparison with the lateral slot. The longitudinal axis of the circular waveguide section passes through the slot crossing center. The geometric parameters of the slots and the coordinates of the slot crossing center are determined by a corresponding calculating equation.
