ABSTRACTSYSTEM FOR THE PASSIVE LOCATING OF A MOBILE UNDERWATER CRAFT.The invention relates to systems for the passive locating of a torpedo launched against a surface boat or a submarine.It consists in releasing a buoy (401 ) from which the vessel moves rapidly away. This buoy is furnished with a hydrophone and transmits the acoustic signals received by the latter to the vessel by a radio or wire channel (504). The torpedo is located on the basis of the delay between the acoustic signals received by the buoy and the vessel by determining the point of intersection between the isodelay hyperbola and the azimuth line of thetarget given by the passive sonar carried by the vessel.It makes it possible in particular to improve the combating of torpedoes at shallow depths.Figure 4.
