To provide a sound as if the sound is heard in a hall such as a movie theater at home or in a small-scale room. Transient response signals are generated by the steps of: setting a predetermined virtual space having a sound source, setting a predetermined real space in which a plurality of loud speakers are disposed, superimposing an observation point in the virtual space over a listening point in the real space, and determining and summing up a potential affecting the observation point from the sound which is generated at. the sound source in the virtual space and propagated into the virtual space. The potential directing toward the observation point is divided into a pluralityof pieces allocated to each of the plurality of loud speakersdisposed in the real space. The virtual space is set accordingto the scenes of the movie.Figure 19
