The web service contents are adapted by a method comprising the following steps: (1) transforming the contents using an apparatus controlled by a set of rules; (2) handling a request from a client device to connect to the service; (3) determining the bandwidth for the client device wishing to connect; (4) determining the actual bandwidth of the connection channel between the client device and a web service handling resource; (5) determining an actual effective bandwidth for the transmission channel on the basis of the actual bandwidth for the connection channel and the bandwidth for the connecting client device; and (6) controlling the transforming apparatus using rules based on the determined actual effective bandwidth for the transmission channel in order to filter the content.
