Separator cartridge for liquid fractions with different densities, has low density fraction flow channels formed in between stacked open grooves for high density fraction

Flow channels for the low density fraction are formed in between the open grooves for the high density fraction in the sideways direction. The open grooves are arranged side by side and one above the other. A cartridge (1) for separating a first liquid fraction from a higher density second liquid fraction in a liquid mixture has an inlet (14) for the mixture and flow channels and outlets (15, 16) for the two fractions, the flow channels for the second fraction being formed by open grooves sloping down from the cartridge inlet. The cartridge contains a number of these grooves arranged side by side and one above the other, the spaces in between these grooves in the sideways direction being used to form the flow channels for the first fraction. Independent claims are also included for (a) a separation method and (b) a separator device using this cartridge.
