Externally threaded sleeves (71) are screwed into threaded bores (70) in the frame (51) which extend parallel to the main surface of the frame, in order to position the frame in the wall opening and then fix it into position. A locking journal (90) on either the frame or door leaf or window sash bridges the gap between these two elements on the hinge side of the door leaf or window sash and is located by a cavity in the other element. When the door or window is closed, the journal extends into a bore in the frame for a threaded sleeve.
