A spiral-type kneading machine includes a spiral-shaped kneading tool having its axis coincident with that of a bowl, and occupies the entire space contained within the bowl. The tool cooperates with a fixed member projecting upwardly from the bottom of the bowl and spaced from the central axis. A spiral-type kneading machine comprises a non-rotating bowl (4), a kneading mechanism arranged within the bowl, and a fixed member (19). The kneading mechanism comprises at least one spiral-type tool constituted by a helical arm lying between two theoretical coaxial cylindrical surfaces. The fixed member is included for engaging the dough, projecting from the bottom of the bowl. The spiral-type kneading tool has its axis (12) coincident with the axis of the bowl and occupies the entire space contained within the bowl. The fixed member projecting from the bottom of the bowl is spaced from the central axis of the bowl to engage the product being kneaded, preventing the formation at the center of the bowl of a mass of product which would tend to be rotated around itself by the kneading tool, without being kneaded.
