The invention relates to compositions consisting essentially of a melt-spinnable polymer component and minor quantities of an emulsion polytetrafluorethylene micro-powder with a melting point which exceeds the temperature at which the polymer components are processed sufficiently to ensure that the micro-powder does not melt on during processing. The inventive compositions are suitable for producing fibrous textile material.
