The concrete is mixed in-situ, including flow promotion agent and optional retardant or accelerator. Setting is monitored using test cubes, keeping them thermally-insulated. Their compressive strength is determined. Weighted setting is plotted as a graph against cube compressive strength. The degree to which hardening of the road concrete has advanced, is determined. It is ensured that traffic strength is reached. This is achieved on e.g. reaching 50% of the ultimate strength at 28 days, at a compressive strength of 20 N/mm squared.
