The hydrotalcite-like precursors have the general chemical formula [M {(II)} _ {1-n} M {(III)} _ {n} (OH) {2} 1] ^ {n +} [X {m} _ {n / m} {2} cdotkH_ O] wherein m represents {II} a divalent cation, m III {} represents a trivalent cation. X represents an anion, m represents the valency of the anion, k may have any greater or equal to 0 and n is between 0 and 1. According to the method reacting a homogeneous solution of soluble salts of the cations M {II} and {III} M with a solution of a soluble salt containing an anion X, for the hydrotalcite precursor and calcining at temperatures between 500 and 1500C.
