Diluent rabbit semen and insemination method based thereon.; rabbit semen extenders and method of use which allow artificial inseminations with comparable results in fertility and prolificacy to the methods described in the prior art but with lower sperm densities between 6-12 million per dose are described, and that might apply to 30 hours after insemination dose diluted. One variant of the invention allows also not having to induce, after insemination, ovulation by injection of a synthetic analogue of GnRH. This allows that can be used semen selected animals to inseminate as many females, increasing the profitability of farm animal production and eliminates risks of disease transmission by repeated injection needles use.
