The interrogation device has a tilted diffraction grating optical waveguide with an optical guide in which a short period or uniform or non-uniform period diffraction grating is provided. A detector array is located at a specific distance that is smaller than the focal length of diffraction grating in tilted diffraction grating optical waveguide. The tilted diffraction grating optical waveguide generates radiated field whose spatial position and shape depends on the wavelength and optical power of light.
