A method for measuring the concentration of an analyte in a biological fluid sample applied to a strip of electrochemical diagnostic type including operating and juxtaposed reference electrodes consisting of: (a) applying a constant current source previously determined between the operating and reference electrodes (b) monitoring the potential difference across the electrodes, (c) applying the sample to the strip, (d) determining the detection time of the sample scoring when difference falls potential below a threshold voltage determined previously, (e) applying a predetermined constant voltage to the sample, (f) measuring an electrical response at a predetermined after applying the constant voltage point, and (g) calculating the concentration analyte using the measured electrical response.
