The roller has a roller shaft (1) attached at ends of individual bearings (2) and a cylindrical casing (3), which is mounted on a non-contact base (7). The individual bearings areplaced on the base. A conveyor belt is supported by the casing. A protective cover (12) is radially extended from the roller shaft. A peripheral edge (13) of the cover is placed on the base. The roller shaft is placed below the cover, which is arranged at a junction of the shaft. The shaft is connected with the base. A retainer (18) is connected with the base and the shaft, where a space (19) is filled with grease. The roller is made of rigid PVC plastic. The retainer is made of elastomeric material.
