The present invention relates to a depilating apparatus comprising a housing accommodating a clamp that allows catch hairs growing on the skin surface and twist them about their longitudinal axis. According to this invention, the clamp keeps the hairs caught in a substantially constant position relative to the housing during twisting operation. Thus, the clamp does not pull hair, avoiding the sensations of pain during twisting. The hairs are twisted by the gripper until the adhesion between the hairs and the skin tissue breaks or until the hairs are broken under the skin. Hair and crooked can tear the skin almost painlessly. In a preferred embodiment, the depilation apparatus comprises at least two clamps cooperation moving periodically from one position making hair to a gripping position hair and a gripping position hair to a new position takes hair, sliding these clamps relative to each other in the gripping position at equal speeds but directed in one direction relative to the housing position.
