A diagnostic and therapeutic apparatus for re-educatingthe posture of the backbone includes in combinationmeans for controlling the orthostatic posture of thepatient, means for carrying out a differential traction onthe same patient at different levels in order to cancel outall or a part of his weight, means for correcting the posturaldefects in the three planes of the space and for blockingthe patient within postural limits in order to preventhim from assuming postures other than that therapeuticeven during the deambulation. In particular, the orthostaticposture is controlled by measuring the weight restingon each foot of the patient through footboards (19A,19B) sensitive to changes in pressure placed under atravelling band (18), and the traction means are lacings ortraction slings (24) slidable around pulleys (22) carriedby a rigid framework and put under tension manually bythe operator or automatically by a microprocessor receivingdata measured from the footboard (19A, 19B) sensitiveto changes in pressure.
