SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE ADVANCED PREDICTION OF WEATHER IMPACT ON MANAGERIAL PLANNING APPLICATIONS

A computer-based system (102) and method which incorporates long-range weatherforecasts in a predictivemodel (128) which quantifies historical weather impact relationships betweendatasets, and uses the long-range weatherforecasts to predict future weather impact on managerial plans. The predictivemodel (130) can use multiple regression ora neural network. In retail application, the computer-based system and methodhas a weather impact predictive modelbased on correlations of historical weather and point-of-sale storetransactions data. The weather impact model is coupledwith long range weather forecasts to adjust managerial plans for buying,distribution, financial budgeting, promotional andadvertising applications. A graphical user interface provides easyassimilation of analysis for specific managerial planningapplications.
