ACCOMMODATION OF DATA DEFINITION STATEMENTS IN THE SHARING OF DYNAMIC SQL STATEMENTS

An SQL relational database management system which determines the shareablestatus of anexecutable object (section) in an SQL cache. The shareable status is definedfor a section in an SQLcache by the system maintaining an identification list which has reference todatabase entities whichare affected by a DDL statement in the current unit of work. When an SQLstatement is compiled,the compiler generates a list of dependencies, which list is compared with theidentification list. Ifthe SQL statement data dependencies are on the identification list, the SQLstatement will be treatedas non-shareable until the completion of the current unit of work.
