TOOLBOXES AND TOOL CASES WITH PIVOTABLE COMPONENT HOLDER

A tool container, such asa toolbox or gift case, has atleast one pivotable componentholder (10) pivotally mountedtherein for pivoting movementbetween a storage position andan access position. Thepivotable component holders arebiased towards the accessposition when the lid (2) is open.The tool container brings anelement (24) directly or indirectlyinto contact with at least one ofthe pivotable component holdersto rotate it to the storageposition when the lid closes, withno direct connection between thelid and the pivotable componentholders. Where there aremultiple pivotable component holders,they may be ganged together, forexample via a gang bar (18).Instead of rotation of thepivotable component holders beingtriggered by lid closure, suchrotation could be triggered byremoval or storage of the tool (88)for which the components areintended. Pivotable holdercomponents may be manipulatedmanually between storage and access positions when the lid is open andmovement may be independent of the lid position.
